Rabbi Slomnicki serves as Dean of Students at the Ramaz Upper School in Manhattan where he works with faculty and students in developing and enhancing the student experience at The Ramaz School.

Rabbi Slomnicki earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Yeshiva College, his M.A. in Jewish Secondary Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, and his semicha from Beit Medrash L’Talmud in Queens, NY. He is passionate about education, both in school and in camp. He served as a Lavi division head and head counselor, in addition to being the first member of the Lavi Kollel. He also held positions as the director of Beaver Lake Day Camp and NSHAma Day Camp of Great Neck. In addition, he created an innovative middle school travel program called Road Ruach. Rabbi Slomnicki aspires to embody the Biblical maxim of “חנוך לנער על פי דרכו“ – or, educate a child according to their way.

Rabbi Eli, as he was known in Lavi, attributes much of his personal growth as a child to his many years in sleep away camp; where he encountered wonderful role models. He hopes to pay that forward in his new role as Camp Rabbi and Head of Chinuch.

Rabbi Slomnicki lives in Great Neck with his wife, Elissa, and their five children; he looks forward to defending his staff basketball intramural championship from the summer of ’99.
